Attention Lottery Winners
If you have $10 million just sitting around burning a hole in your pocket, consider buying Red Rock Island in the San Francisco Bay. When the Bay is not entirely fogged in, the view is spectacular.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
There's no way I can quite do justice to this show, so I shan't try. I shot some shaky footage on my Treo (3gp format, Quicktime required):
Entrance (2MB)
Entrance continued (1.2MB)
The '97 Song (3.8MB)
Exeunt (5.98MB)
(In case it's not clear, the Entrance/Exeunt song is the old Summer is A-Coming song sung at the end of the first version of The Wicker Man.)
These guys put on one incredible, loud show. If you like your metal with a good deal of show, check 'em out some time.

My Irony Quota for the Week: Shot
I was listening to Morning Edition on NPR this morning and heard the following:
Senator Bob Corker(R-TN): "This is nothing more than a tax: a tax on Southeast United States, a tax where-- basically it's a transference of wealth from Southeast America to other parts where wind and solar takes place."
Tennessee: Windless and sunless since the dawn of time.
(Yes, I know he meant the wind and solar energy industries, but even so, at best he's pointing out a recalcitrance to improve the state's infrastructure.)
