Never forgive. Never forget.

I do not believe in a forgiving god. I do not believe in turning the other cheek in the face of madmen. I do not believe that mass murder solves anything or wins anyone to your cause.

I want the planners, perpetrators, and accomplices of what happened 365 days ago dead. I want them piled up on a pyre and burned, preferably alive, preferably screaming. I have no qualms about exacting an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth; I'll carry that torch myself.

Right now, logic and circumstance point us toward Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda. In this day of paper shredders, erased hard drives, and duplicity all around us, I'm willing to accept what evidence has been produced as damning al Qaeda. So hunt them down and kill them. I'm all for that. I'll bring the rope.

Next, go after the bastards who supported them, who grew them, who set up a world where an al Qaeda can thrive. We toppled the Taliban-- a great start. Now replace the Saudi Royal family whose oppressive plutocracy has made suicide a pleasant alternative to life without hope. Replace the Egyptian government that censors reason and promulgates hate. Eliminate the religious necro-crats of Iran who grasp the reins of power in that country in their rigor mortis-ized claws.

Then, when we have shown our commitment to doing right, when we have built our moral ground and staked our claim on doing right at any cost, topple that petty schmuck, Saddam Hussein. Forget claims based on the possibility of Weapons of Mass Destruction; topple the corrupt and evil because it is corrupt and evil.

And then, when we've done that, I want our way of life allowed everywhere, and to hell with cultural sensitivity: let all say what they think without fear of government censure, violence, or imprisonment; let all vote and influence the world based on their votes; let all give according to their ability, and let all receive according to their need.

Yes, I'm a dreamer. But I'm a dreamer who also believes in the club.
