The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a comic book written by comics god Alan Moore, features a rag-tag group of Victorian pulp heroes (Mina Murray (formerly Harker), Allan Quartermain, Henry Jeklyll, Hawley Griffin, and Captain Nemo) who investigate plots against the Empire. One of the most allusive and casually violent comics around these days, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen has been a huge success for its tiny production company (America's Best Comics). Soon to be a magnificent and overblown Summer Blockbuster.
