Repubs commit political suicide, film at 11

The Senate passed a budget bill that "would allow states to impose new fees on Medicaid recipients, cut federal child support enforcement funds, impose new work requirements on state welfare programs and squeeze student lenders." (Washington Post, nasty registration required, visit Bugmenot)

This is the Xmas before an election year. How could you vote for this and not realize it's like a clarion call to the elderly and poor to run you the hell out of office?

Let me put this in sloganeering perspective: "Rick Santorum voted to charge your indigent grandmother more for her meds. Just say no to Santorum in 2006."
