Sanity, and its distant relations

The BBC reports on teh Prez reiterating his claim that "the US administration does not condone torture." Teh Prez had to say this again, of course, because his right-hand cyborg, Dick Cheney made it clear in an interview recently that '"a dunk in the water" for terrorism suspects during questioning in order to save American lives was a "no-brainer".'

First, let's remember that waterboarding is not "a dunk in the water."

Then view this peculiar statement on the Veep's comments by the BBC:

"His comments have provoked outrage from anti-torture and human rights groups."

I suggest to you, gentle readers, that being anti-torture is much the same as being pro-air and anti-homicidal maniacs. That is to say, sane.

It disturbs me to no end to know that we have a situation where we need to define this position.
