Blue Angels

One of the joys of working in a tall, recognizable building away from where the rest of the tall, recognizable buildings are clustered in San Francisco is that the Blue Angels use our building as marker when they're practicing their aerobatics for Fleet Week. So, after work, a bunch of us went up on the roof and watched them cavort. Clicking the on images will open bigger versions where you can just about make out the dots/airplanes.

I also took some vids (all in .mov format, 300-500kb each):

Just as we were coming out of the door onto the roof, the Blue Angels flew by really close (well, in the greater scheme of things, sorta close), and the noise was so sudden and so loud that I reflexively crouched and covered my head. Two things: first, pretty quick for a 37 year old desk jockey(!); and second, if that's what it's like when you _know_ they're friendly, I'd hate to ever encounter them if they were hostile.
